Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions engineers and buyers ask us most about UK PCB manufacturing: lead times, layer counts, materials, data formats and certifications. Can’t find what you need? Contact our technical team or call +44 (0)1952 670011.

How quickly can you manufacture a PCB in the UK?

Simple 2-layer boards can be turned around in as little as 24 hours. Complex multilayer designs up to 40 layers are typically delivered within four working days. Because everything is made in our Telford facility, there are no offshore shipping or customs delays.

Are your PCBs really made in Britain?

Yes. Every board is manufactured at our own facility in Telford, Shropshire, where we have been making PCBs since 1993. We are a registered Made in Britain member and all processes are carried out on site.

What types of PCB can you manufacture?

Single-sided, double-sided and multilayer boards up to 40 layers, flexible PCBs, flex-rigid (including multilayer flex-rigid up to 16 layers), metal-backed IMS boards and ceramic PCBs using Rogers materials.

What materials do you keep in stock?

We hold extensive UK stock including standard and high-performance FR4, high-speed/low-loss laminates, polyimide, IMS and flexible substrates, with materials from Arlon, Isola, DuPont, Taconic, Rogers and Ventec.

What certifications do you hold?

BS EN ISO 9001:2015 (BSI certified), JOSCAR registration for aerospace, defence and security, UL 796 recognition, Cyber Essentials, and Made in Britain membership. We work to IPC Class 2, with Class 3 processes available. Certificates can be downloaded from our Quality page.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

No. We specialise in prototypes and small batches as well as low-to-medium volume production, so you can order exactly what your project needs.

What design data do you need for a quote?

We accept all common formats including Extended Gerber RS274X (preferred), ODB++, DXF and Excellon drill files. Send all layers, drill data, solder resist files and a profile drawing with tolerances, and our technical team will take it from there.

How is quality controlled?

Every PCB is 100% electrically tested to data, including automated optical inspection of inner layers before bonding and flying-probe testing on completion. We deliver over 97% of batches on time.
